General Information for Artists: this page gives a general overview of juried shows, workshops, and the Art Port Townsend studio tours each October.
Artists wishing to be considered for an exhibit: Contact Northwind to be considered.
Artists wishing to lead a workshop, or share at an evening coffee talk: Please Contact the Center about workshops you want to lead, or if you want to share your expertise at a coffee talk. We need to hear from you!
Publicizing your workshop or exhibit: Northwind has an excellent volunteer staff that will ensure your workshop or exhibit is well attended. It is essential that you and your contact/curator begin the publicity process well in advance of the event. This page describes your part in the process.
Entering a juried show: A Northwind juried show generally receives far more submittals than it has space to hang. The Art Port Townsend 2006 show had 750 entries, and could hang only 72. Juror Susan Parke commented:
"To select only about 10% of the 750 worthy entries is not an easy task. ... Some slides and photographs show works to their best advantage while poor slides reflect negatively on both art and artist. Deserving entries may have been missed because of the slide selection method. To those artists I apologize."
Printed brochures and prospectuses have limited space to describe guidelines for submitting slides and prints. This page adds more detail.
