About Us

Purpose - to support the arts regionally. Our current focus is on visual arts and poetry; we hope to include the performing arts in the future.

Activities - the activities at the Center include:

art shows featuring local and regional artists
art workshops
lectures and coffee talks
poetry readings

Organization - Northwind Arts Center is a non-profit group dedicated to supporting the arts locally, through education and through display of work by regional artists. Northwind is a member of Northwind Arts Alliance, a non-profit volunteer membership organization with 501(c)3 status. Northwind Arts Center is operated by an all volunteer group, the Northwind Committee, co-chaired by Becky Schurmann and Jay Haskins, under the oversight of the Northwind Arts Alliance Board of Directors.  Membership in the Northwind Arts Center is gained when you become a member of the Northwind Arts Alliance.

Location - The Art Center is located in Port Townsend, Washington at 2409 Jefferson Street (just off Sims Way, on the waterfront side, near the Port Townsend Visitor Center).

Center hours: Noon - 6pm, Friday - Monday. Lectures, coffee talks, special programs, and workshops are held at the Center unless otherwise indicated.
